Jet boat up as far as Ngaporo and see the famous rapids. Leaving the jet boat and after some paddling instructions, board your Canadian canoe or kayak. Leave the rest of the world behind and experience the peace and tranquility as you drift back down the river. Stop as you wish and explore points of interest to you. Hear the sounds of the river and the surrounding bush enjoy at its unspoilt best a part of New Zealand as it was centuries ago.

Bridge to Nowhere Tour and Canoe
Drive to Pipiriki from Wanganui or Raetihi and be met by our Bridge to Nowhere Lodge Jet Service. So begins an adventure that you will remember for a lifetime! Your guided tour of the highlights of the majestic Whanganui River with its fern-clad gorges will bring you to the Mangapurua Landing – gateway to the famous ‘Bridge to Nowhere’. Enjoy a tranquil 40 min walk through native bush, hear the Tuis and the Bellbirds, and catch a glimpse of Woodpigeons or Goats. Bring a picnic lunch to have at the Bridge and enjoy tales from your guide of the historic Mangapurua Valley and its pioneering people.

Wandering back down to the river, join the jet boat again and travel back down to the Bridge to Nowhere Lodge.
